Keeping Dance Alive is a mass choreography programme to continue the legacy of the London 2012 opening ceremonies at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We’ve been to DANCE RIO in the lead up to the Rio Olympics in 2016, and last year we marked the announced year of culture with our 'Bard to Bollywood' This year aims to be the biggest performance year yet, with up to 750 dancers taking part. This years programme is called ‘ The Great War Centenary’ to commemorate the 100 years of the end of World War 1.

Over the past year we have encouraged education and community groups of all ages and abilities from across Essex and Barking & Dagenham to participate in what will be a memorable year of events to mark 100 years since the end of World War 1.

So far this year, groups in Essex have performed at the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford as part of our SpringBlast platforms, the Essex CloudFM County Cricket ground and the Sounds of Essex Festival (Hosted by Essex Music Education Hub) while groups from Barking & Dagenham have performed at the Jim Peters Stadium and The Broadway Theatre as part of the annual schools platforms 'Fusion'.

Our signups to perform with us for 2018 has closed however, you can still join us as an audience member or buy our resources and create your own Great War Centenary performances.

See below upcoming performances if you are able to join us to honour this time in history
