Karen Pratt
Karen is a Suffolk based Dance Artist specialising in contemporary and community dance. She delivers on the Dance Network Association's programmes as our 'Lead Artist' for Dancing with Parkinson's and our Youth Dance Company Programme.
Karen trained at Roehampton University where she gained a BA (hons) in Dance Studies. Karen went on to complete a PGCE at University Campus Suffolk in 2014 and has worked in a range of educational settings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgshire.
In 2016 she was a part of the creation of Big Dance 2016 at Roehampton University with Akram Khan Company and People Dancing. From this she set up and ran her own workshops in Suffolk in conjunction with Anna Rowe Dance and Big Dance. Karen has taught on many exciting projects including:

In 2018 Karen worked as Producer for Ipswich Choral Society on a large-scale community project commemorating WW1; Ipswich Remembers.
She is currently teaching her own classes StowMovers, a movement class for 55+ years, and her youth company Karen Louise Youth Dance which both run weekly. She also teaches for Dance Network Association in Essex for their Youth Company 'Dance Station' and their Dance For Parkinson's classes. Karen is a keen performer, and has been a member of Dance East's Performance group 'Dance Unlimited' for four years now, and performs regularly in East Anglia. Karen was also part of the 17/18 cohort for Overture, a professional development opportunity from Matthew Bourne's ReBourne branch of the company. She was 1 of 16 UK Dance Artists that took part in four residential weekends.
