Summer Programmes for 2024

Thanks to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Holiday Activity and Food Fund, DNA offered our FIRST EVER Summer Programme.

We ran 2 weeks of activity in July - August 2024 for young people aged 5 - 16 years old in Barking and Dagenham.

Each 4 day programme featured:
- 3hrs 15 mins of dance activity each day featuring a variety of styles and teachers
- 30mins of well-being activities each day
- Refreshments, healthy snacks and a hot balanced meal for each child every day
- 60 mins of crafting activity each day
- 1 x 45min specialist session each day (Well-being, Nutrition, Dance & Technology, Afro Grooves and Parkour)
- 1 x 45 min free nutrition workshop for parents per week
- 1 x 45min free wellbeing workshop for parents per week
- A 15 min informal sharing of their activities in front of parents on the final day of each week



Easter Programme 2024

We're thrilled to share the wonderful impact of our Holiday Activity and Food Programmes (HAF) this Easter Delivery 2024! Thanks to the generous support from the Department for Education, families across the nation are enjoying enriching activities and nutritious meals during the school holidays.

At DNA, we're proud to compliment the fantastic efforts of our suppliers in the HAF activities, including supporting Colchester United Community Foundation. It's been an absolute delight to bring the joy of dance to Easter Schools in the North of Essex. Our talented dance artist, Maisy Ritchie, said, "I really enjoyed delivering the sessions today! The engagement from the group was fantastic, and even the Colchester United team joined in, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved."

We're doubly excited as we celebrate our second year of hosting activities in Barking and Dagenham (LBBD). With generous support from LBBD, we've curated an inclusive programme filled with dance, crafting, nutrition, and wellbeing activities. We are proud that our programme is inclusive, offering, in addition to the activities, breakout spaces, sensory areas, and one-on-one support, ensuring that every child feels valued and included throughout the week.

These initiatives make a difference, offering opportunities beyond traditional education settings, especially for those who may have never experienced dance before or face financial barriers to such activities.
