Volunteer With DNA – Make a Difference Through Dance and Connection
Our wonderful volunteers are at the heart of Dance Network Association (DNA). They generously give their time, energy and kindness to help us create welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can experience the joy of dance, movement and connection.
Whether you can spare a few hours regularly or help occasionally, your support can make a meaningful difference to the people and communities we work with across Essex.
Our volunteers support us in many ways, from welcoming participants, offering companionship and assisting with our community dance and creative wellbeing programmes to helping with events, fundraising, administration and spreading the word about our work.
You don't need to be a dancer to volunteer with DNA! All you need is a willingness to help, a friendly approach and a passion for making a positive difference.
How Can You Volunteer With DNA?
We have a variety of opportunities to get involved, depending on your interests, skills and availability.
Community Dance Volunteers
Support our dance artists during sessions, help welcome participants, offer encouragement and ensure everyone feels comfortable and included. This is particularly valuable across our Dancing with Care and Dancing Pathways programmes, which support people living with dementia, Parkinson's and other health conditions.
Community Support Volunteers (not a dance role)
Support our dance artists during the delivery of our sessions; help set up and clear the space before and after classes, welcome participants for class, help collect statistical data (register) for the artists, help us collate information from participants for project evaluation; make refreshments for the social; and offer companionship to participants and carers.
Creative Wellbeing Café Volunteers
Help us create a warm, friendly environment at our Creative Wellbeing Café in Wivenhoe. Support creative activities, welcome visitors, make refreshments and offer companionship to participants and carers. See more about the Cafe click here
Community Champions and Outreach Volunteers
Help spread the word about DNA! Distribute posters and flyers, attend community events, connect with local organisations and encourage more people to discover the benefits of our programmes.
Fundraising and Events Volunteers
From supporting fundraising activities and community events to helping us organise raffles, source prizes and raise awareness, your creativity and enthusiasm could help keep our programmes running.
Administration and Office Volunteers
Support our small charity behind the scenes with general administration, data entry, preparing resources, research and other essential tasks that help keep DNA organised and running smoothly.
Marketing, Photography and Digital Volunteers
Do you enjoy social media, photography, design or storytelling? Help us celebrate our dancers, capture meaningful moments, create content and share the positive impact of our work with the wider community.
Professional Skills and Specialist Volunteers
Have experience in finance, fundraising, marketing, HR, IT or charity governance? We welcome individuals willing to share their professional expertise to help strengthen our small charity and support its future development.
